Holy Cross, Palmarsh

This is a small mission church built in 1958 for the people in the west of the town. It has a smaller but dedicated congregation.

Recently, at Holy Cross Church, Jacky Moull was welcomed into the Parish as a Pastoral Assistant, accredited under the Authorised Lay Ministry Scheme of Canterbury Diocese, in a special thanksgiving celebration. It was a joyful occasion of recognition of Jacky’s ministry and of the importance of all the people of God, lay and ordained, accepting and following Christ’s calling on our lives.

Holy Cross Newsletter - March 2010

As I write this we have a very cold North East wind with the threat of snow for us, but we can think about that Spring is not far away when it will be getting warmer and lighter evenings, and all the bulbs with be coming out in bloom giving us wonderful displays of flowers in God’s wonderful land.
As we are going on our journey through Lent we are sharing Christ’s experience and not having those treats we love.
I will soon be Mothering Sunday on 14th March when all the mothers get gifts and cards of appreciation for all they do.
Also we are coming up for Palm Sunday on 28th March when we get our Palm Crosses and we can think of Christ carrying his cross.
Some good news we are hoping to have the glass doors installed in time for Easter in memory of my dear wife Jane which has been made possible by all the donations we have received from all her friends and collegues.
This is my first Holy Cross News and I find it a great privelage to be asked to do this so thank you very much.
With Love and Best Wishes
